ARTWORK // Rishikesh on Shulman

So I was just listening to Shulman (wonderful pysbient stuff if you haven't heard) and exploring some new directions for blotter art and this is what I came up with last night. Not my favourite for sure, but I see some potential in it, so am going to wait and see if I continue on this track. I have been wanting to explore architectural details as graphic elements. I saw some very nice Gothic Mandalas in Lyon that Viktor had done. Will try and get them posted here sometime. The original image in the artwork above is a panoramic view of the bridge in Rishikesh, India.

BLOT @ Zenzi Mills / Mumbai // 3-4 July 2009

So we have two back to back gigs in Mumbai this weekend, at both the Zenzis. We love playing in Mumbai. Especially at Zenzi, which is steered musically by our dear friend Kris Correya who is pretty much an institution on the electronic music scene in Mumbai. So Friday night is @ Zenzi Bandra, with Kris and Thiruda on visuals and maybe Gaurav on percussion - recreating the Nuit Sonores Festival experience we had in Lyon with the Mosquito Massala crew (pics and videos coming soon>)

Saturday night is at what is arguably the best (and only) musical venue of its vibe in India - Zenzi Mills. This is going to be pure BLOT experience and we are very excited about it. Check out the artwork for the gig. Its composed from some pictures we took in France this month while shooting our new stop motion music video.

Can never tell if these are the most idiotic self centred type of pictures or are these the cool ones? Well anyways, I can tell you we looked pretty stupid sitting out on that street with a little Canon G9 perched on a mini tripod on the other side of the street. Gaurav gets exceptionally embarrassed by all this... but hey! there is two of us, and there needs to be two of us in the picture {read: 10 sec self timer} well anyways! i like the windows opening out like big angel wings placed on a medieval machine. (and 2 indian immigrants trying to ride out their dreams on it :-)

GIGS // BLOT in Paris / 12 June 2009

So we are doing a gig with our new friend and DJ Eva in Paris at a very cool cultural and arts centre. They managed to get my spelling wrong :-) but its France, and its going to fun! Last gig before we come back..and then its straight to Mumbai for comeback gigs at the crazy cool new Zenzi Mills with Kris 2 nights straight! No time for jetlag :-(
